The Profound Teachings of Those We Hold Close: Unveiling the Blessings of Emotional Bonds
An alignment session to practice self-love and compassion for others
Peace Overtures Today is a weekly newsletter dedicated to guiding individuals on their personal quest for inner peace. Each week, I share a movie that helped me discover balance. It’s a process of awareness and healing that leads to sparks of joy. I’m sincerely grateful to have you here with me.
The people we spend our lives with day in and day out usually reflect facets within ourselves. It doesn’t matter if they’re loved ones, co-workers, or regular customers. If we feel a charge from them over and over again it’s usually a blessing in disguise trying to teach us about a facet within us. At times, people can be the most amazing teachers – if you let them. They can also teach you to love completely even if you don’t completely understand them.
When you begin consciously choosing to love all the quirks, reactivity, and aspects you don’t understand about those in your world, you’re able to practice loving yourself completely. Once you begin this practice, loving others is much easier.
Loving completely is the work of the heart and it really isn’t affected by the fussy people in your life. The heart doesn’t judge, nor does it keep score. It is comparable to a devoted mother who loves her child unconditionally, without any conditions or expectations. This is the type of love we can learn to cultivate within ourselves.
Ultimately, by embracing the lessons and love that these individuals offer us, we can grow and become better versions of ourselves. So, let us cherish the opportunities to learn from others and to love them with all their imperfections, just like a mother loves her child. In doing so, we'll discover the beauty of loving completely - a journey that begins within and radiates outward to the world around us.
This is a quick Alignment Process session to help you love yourself and others completely. To get the resonance benefit from this session, simply say these statements and then do the Alignment Completion at the end.

How To Start Practicing Self-Love
Play and explore this week. It will distract your thinking and will give your heart more opportunities to lead.
How we feel before falling asleep at night is our starting set point in the morning. For the next three days, before going to sleep place your hands over your heart and repeat this mantra: I am loved, I am loving, and I am lovable – always. Notice how much better you feel in the morning.
Each time you see a butterfly, let it be a reminder to get back to loving yourself in that moment.
This is beautiful. I especially agree with the advice to set ourselves up as we fall asleep. I find it helpful to become aware of my heart and feel the way it responds when I put my mind to people I love and elements of my life I am grateful for. It literally makes my heart feel warm and alive--activated, I guess--and I usually wake up with the same sensations. I try to sit with them a while before I get out of bed. Over time, I can return easily to that heart practice through the day and it has changed everything for me.
What a beautiful practice! Thank you!
